Barack Obama will announce plans on Tuesday for a national fuel-economy and greenhouse-gas standard for automobiles in an effort to give more certainty to car companies as they struggle for survival, industry and administration sources said today. The national emissions policy for autos, which will ramp up to a new standard of about 35 miles per gallon in 2016.
But, I wonder who will still be employed and able to afford food, let alone a new car.

Wanda Sykes, Comedian Or Ass-Hole?
At the White House Correspondent dinner on Saturday, Wanda Sykes laid only kid gloves on the President, while reserving her rancor for Republicans and their allies in the media, particularly Limbaugh.
The bottom line was that none of her "jokes" were funny, but rather stupid and insensitive.
The real problem is that anyone considers what she said was a joke. Like Obama did, is just as stupid and insensitive.
Sykes, (and her ilk) can't think of any substantive way to engage the opposition, so she just hopes they die or become non-effective.

She compared the talk show host, not present at the dinner, to Osama bin Laden: ”Because I think maybe he was the 20th hijacker. But he was just so strung out on Oxycontin that he missed his flight.” Even she realized she went overboard. Still, she later expressed the hope that his kidneys might fail.
She went for those Obama did not care for: Limbaugh, etc. But what I personally found most disturbing and offensive was Mr. Charm up there giving HIS monologue to cheers and laughter, and especially the self congratulatory laughter and cheers when he noted that almost all of them voted for him, something I don't think they should be cheering and self congratulatory about. They should be embarrassed not only that they were such a major block vote in a profession that is supposed to at least attempt to be non-biased but that they thought the comment both funny and wonderful. I DID NOT. And they still show major bias every day in their reporting, they just can't help themselves and also obviously don't see it.

The inmates are running the asylum.
Congress and the Obama administration are classic examples of the old cliche “The inmates are running the asylum.”
Congress is fighting over oversights in the ridiculously exorbitant stimulus bill regarding bonuses to AIG, which they, themselves, caused. Believe it or not. They had all the votes and they did so during the middle of the night. No one even read the damn bill.
It was caused by a rush to judgment and not knowing what they voted for. Even worse, it was signed by President Obama. An average inexperienced youth knows to read a document before signing it. But Obama with his frar-mongering scared the people to death.
There are exceptions, however. Legislators, who now take credit for solving the problems, encouraged some to sign “junk” mortgages. Barney Frank, and Sen. Christopher Dodd, blocked proposed subprime mortgage controls on Fanny Mae.
They remind me of two cats in a litter box frantically scratching to cover their messes.
Dodd, Obama and Frank were top recipients of campaign contributions from Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac. Surprised? If so, stop watching the three major networks for your news.
Dodd, chairman of the banking committee, also received the most campaign money from AIG, plus a sweet-heart mortgage from Countrywide. He denies all, of course.
Two Democratic presidents can take credit for this mess, as well. Jimmy Carter instituted the policy that started the economic meltdown. He demanded that Fannie Mae ease mortgage lending rules for subprime home purchasers..
The issue could have been reversed by Bill Clinton’s administration, but he refused.
President Bush made a half-hearted attempt to tighten lending regulations, but he was blocked by Frank and Dodd. He was too late with too little.
Sen. Dodd interjected language in the stimulus bill that guarantees the AIG bonus contracts, negotiated by the Treasury Department last November. Then he denied it. When exposed, he changes his story again. He is either stupid or a liar, probably both.
The House of Representatives voted to tax the AIG bonuses up to 90 percent, which violates at least three clauses of the Constitution and which will cause more costly hearings and court battles, at taxpayer expense. What do you expect from a Congress of lawyers? Hows that for democracy?

This recession was caused by the mortgage crises caused by subprime borrowers protected by Frank, Dodd and Carter.
The one that thinks she is the President Nancy Pelosi proposed and delivered the votes for the stimulus package we can’t afford that stimulates only her constituents and which may even spark a Mexican trade war. Then Congress approved an automatic pay raise for themselves, through inaction.
Bills were to be free of pork and earmarks, but this stimulus bill is full of both.
And in the case of the Automobile industry, GM, and Chrysler should have filed for bankruptcy & restructured, but Obama stopped that. As far as AIG went, same deal.
By empowering the government with tremendous control, we are fast-tracking to 100% socialism.
I know people knew that about the Obama 'Change' and it is what American's want. Much higher taxation with no worries about where their bread comes from tomorrow as long as they get their slice each day. And I knew that from Obama history as a senator, but even I was taken by surprise at how rapidly he is accomplishing this. Obama is 100% socialist and anyone who says differently is living with their heads stuck in the sand. That statement has nothing to do with Repubs vs Dems btw. It is just fact based on what Obama believes in. His Vision for America is socialist & U.S. voters want that here

Democrats love welfare.
If you like Government Dependence, you will love Obama's plan . Stand on line and get the handouts. This bill looks like a big welfare package to me, with a little stimulus thrown in with a ton of pork.
It warms my heart to see our parasite class living large on the taxpayers' dime - NOT. I hope I'm not the only one who is totally disgusted by this wretched excess on the part of people who have the gall to characterize themselves as 'public servants'. Are the Obamas really this tone deaf and clueless, or do they just not care?

Obama Signs $787 Billion Stimulus Pork Sandwich
President Obama signed into law the largest spending bill in U.S. history, a package he pledges will save millions of jobs and bring the nation back from the brink of economic catastrophe. In doing so, the president marked a huge legislative victory less than a month into his term. Obama said the package would not solve all the country's economic problems but it will create a host of new economic problems to plague us for generations. As he signed it, Marxists everywhere were pleased they were seen dancing in the streets of Tehran and I heard that at the moment of signing a new crack appeared in the original Liberty Bell in Philadelphia. Lincoln's statued in Washington DC wept. And Ronald Reagan turned over in his grave.
But Wall Street sure as hell wasn't impressed as the dow fell 250 point....again.

Are you as sick of him as I am?
The deadbeats, lobby hustlers, unions, community organizers (ACORN), welfare artists, entitlement pros, TARP recipients, dopers, crooked politicians, liberal schools (I am sure I left some out) and the Messiah himself, are cheering like crazy.. the poor taxpayer that has to pay for all this crapola is thinking about going on permanent strike.. I hope people wake up soon and decide it is time to quit funding this bloated thing we call a government.. things are getting so bad now that a bankrupt USA wouldn’t make a damn bit of difference to many of us who believe it is time for a taxpayer/legislative/constitutional/judicial/executive REVOLT and REVOLUTION..
